MECHANICAL ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION (ARMS)

On 3rd September 2009, a seminar on Unigraphics was conducted by the students of 3rd year Mechanical Engineering by Mr. Joseph Beno, PENTACAD, Vallioor. He gave a brief introduction about this latest software and its application in modern industries.

A seminar on CATIA was conducted by Mr. Jayashankar, CADD centre, Tirunelveli on 9th sep 2009 to the students of 2nd year Mechanical Engineering. He explained about the software and its advantages over other softwares.

On 3.3.2010 various events such as paper presentation, Marketing, Just a minute, Quiz etc were conducted and all the students participated in them with great interest. These events provided a chance to find the talents within each student and G.Arul Jerold Prakash Director Science & Technology Museum & Planetorium, Tiruvandrum, he validate the function.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Our Final year Mechanical Engineering students visited Two company in Mumbai & One company in Goa in their 7th Semester. Our 3rd year Mechanical Engineering students visited ETA power plant private limited, Nallichatram, Sattur on 19.02.2010 to know about the various unconventional power producing methods. It’s a 10MW Power plant producing power from Biomass and also visited one company in Bangalore in their 5th semester. Our 2nd year Mechanical Engineering students visited one company in Cochin in September 2009.

INPLANT TRAINING

Our Fifteen of our 3rd year Mechanical Engineering students took the In plant training in Ponmalai Locomotive diesel shed in Tiruchirapalli. Ten of our Final year Mechanical Engineering students took the Inplant training in various companies in Chennai & Coimbatore.

WORKSHOP ATTENTED

• MR.R. Satheesh Raja, Senior lecturer has attended two day workshop on Composite material held on 3&4th March 2010 at National Engineering College, Kovilpatti.
• MR.I.Bala Subramanian, Senior lecturer has attended one day workshop on Optimization technic at Ultra College of Engineering for women in Maduri.
